Why most people NEVER make their dreams come true

Just a small group of people in the world knows what their dreams really are. Just 5% of all the people in the word dare to dream BIG. So congratulations if you are one of the lucky few that has taken the time to discover their dreams.

A Dutch consultancy agency measured how many projects (in organisations) were successful. Successful meant: reached their goal within the time frame they had set for it…. Okay let me tell you. Just 4% of all projects was. I don’t know for sure, but I think this number can be accurate for most individuals who want to make a dream come true

The success rate of the people that I’ve worked with is, of course, MUCH higher. But that’s not the point now. To increase your odds of really realising your dream it is important to be honest about where you are at, what you want to move towards, and what price you are willing to pay for reaching your target. After you’ve told me the answers to these questions, I know exactly what your chances are for success and fulfillment.

3 categories of dreamers

In my opinion there are three categories of dreamers.

1. Those that will make their material dreams come true, but won’t clean up the s*** in their lives. These people might be successful and feel somewhat fulfilled, but they will definitely not become happy, joyous and free.

2. Those who won’t live their dreams because they can’t stay focused on the steps they need to take. They keep digging deeper and working on their emotional and spiritual life. They keep staring at their navel and are waiting for the Universe to do their work for them.

3. Those who don’t want it badly enough; are not suffering enough; or worse, are so used to suffering that they don’t feel the necessity to take any action other than thinking about it. They will never be ALL in. They don’t feel a big enough reason to get started, ask for help, keep going until finishing and keep doing the maintenance.

I can tell you in the first ten seconds of our conversation or after reading your intake form in which category you are in. I have to admit that this doesn’t sound to optimistic. And that is weird because I am such a positive person in general. I guess I’ve just seen and met to many people who are and/ or have been fooling themselves.

In which category would you put yourself if you had to choose one?

Set yourself up for success

What are the traits of a successful dreamcatcher? He/she is ‘heartworking’ and has a growth mindset. These aren’t things we are born with. With a bit of work and coaching, anyone can develop the traits in these two categories.

HEARTWORKING

He or she…

1) has a clear and super motivating why that is connected to their dream;

2) has very clear goals that, put together, sum up their dream;

3) Stays focused on their dreams at all times;

4) realises the dream with and/or for others;

5) celebrates successes.

GROWTH MINDSET

He or she…

6) has grown drive, stamina, grit and perseverance;

7) is open to receiving feedback they don’t wan’t to hear and still listen and act on it even though it doesn’t make sense to him/ her in he beginning;

8) gets out of their comfort zone to clear blockages;

9) grows their manifestation muscles, not by outsourcing it to the Universe, but by working in a very structured way, even when the going gets tough, until it is done;

10) is willing to take risks and dive deep;

11) is able to keep inspiring and motivate themselves (and those he/ she works with) throughout the process until he/ she finishes.

Will you make your dreams come true?

Which of the above traits do you possess? If you have a dream, how likely does it seem that you will make it come true? Or have you already realised some of your dreams? For me, personally, making dreams come true has always been a struggle. I marched towards my goals with a backpack full of rocks. I may have reached the finish line multiple times, but the price I paid was so high.

That’s why I had to work on my growth mindset; on cleaning up false beliefs, both on a personal level and a business level. This year has been the most challenging of my life. Finally, I can see the silvery lining, and I’m about to feel the sun on my face. And in case you hadn’t noticed yet, I’d been a dreamer from the first category above. What about you?
